O'2L One of greatest little bands to hit the jazz/rock world, O’2L, delivers a freshness in music that awakens the soul. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Jane Mangini and Al Pitrelli effortlessly incorporate elements of jazz, blues, rock, and contemporary electronica into arrangements that are comparable to peers such as Saint Germain, Deep Forest, and Enigma, as well as Hollywood composer/arrangers like Craig Armstrong (Romeo + Juliet, Massive Attack) and David Arnold (the James Bond franchise, Björk). O’2L has a pulse that can’t be ignored. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) went unnoticed for only so long before becoming one of rock music’s most exhilarating live bands, it’s only a matter of time before O’2L captivates the country with it’s distinctive sound. The reinterpretation of the Doors’ 1971 hit, “Riders on the Storm,” fluidly conveys the ingenuity that is laid out on the album’s 13 tracks, however it only hints at the brilliance of the collaboration between Jane Mangini and Al Pitrelli. O’2L’s sophomore album, Doyle’s Brunch, is named for an Irish pub in Boston where Jane once worked, a neighborhood hangout with true personality. The colorful characters that came and went are resurrected in instrumentals that capture the frenetic energy of the venue on a Sunday morning. The telling of stories without words is eloquently achieved through Jane’s soulful touch on keyboards and Al’s intuitive lead on guitar. On "Come And Get It", Jane's light, lively runs and rhythmic dexterity intermingle with jazzy brass and Al's deft, sensitive fills. The fast paced, jubilant "Mountain City Playhouse" suggests the original Star Wars cantina band, dropped into the middle of a Wild West saloon. "City Chicken" burbles along like New Orleans funk, punctuated by mellow interludes that recall the deceptively sophisticated arrangements of Steely Dan, while "Missing Kate" anchors its stately atmospherics established via classical string textures with subdued hip-hop beats. O’2L’s craftsmanship is attributed to complimentary minds and exceptional talent. Jane, a Florida native, attended Berklee in Boston. In addition to touring with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for the past few years, Jane has recorded two records and played with New England Favorite, Rick Berlin. A classically trained musician, Al Pitrelli has made his mark in the rock world performing with heavy metal groups like Megadeth and Savatage. He also worked with Alice Cooper, Asia and Dee Snider’s group Widowmaker. Together, with the help of John O.Reilly (drummer from TSO west), Tommy Farese ,Kelly Keeling ,Maxx Mann (singers from TSO west) and Chris Altenhoff (bassist and musical director for the TSO backup band), Mangini and Pitrelli tour the country painting a vivid picture and bringing it to life. O’2L has an edge that manifests pure spirit and grace, creating a sound that will forever linger in the blueprints of jazz/rock fusion. copyright 2005 Direct Events All Rights Trans-Siberian Orchestra 2007 Winter Tour November - 07 2 TSO - Lakeland Civic Center Lakeland, FL 3 TSO - Lakeland Civic Center Lakeland, FL 4 TSO - BankAtlantic Center Sunrise, FL 5 TSO - Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena Jacksonville, FL 7 TSO - Thompson Bolling Arena Knoxville, TN 8 TSO - Phillips Arena Atlanta, GA 9 TSO - Mississippi Coast Coliseum Biloxi, MS 10 TSO - New Orleans Arena New Orleans, LA 11 TSO - Mississippi Coliseum (3:00 pm) Jackson, MS 11 TSO - Mississippi Coliseum (7:30 pm) Jackson, MS 14 TSO - United Spirit Arena Lubbock, TX 16 TSO - Don Haskins Center El Paso, TX 17 TSO - US Airways Arena (3:00 pm) Phoenix, AZ 17 TSO - US Airways Arena (8:00 pm) Phoenix, AZ 18 TSO - Mandalay Bay Events Center Las Vegas, NV 19 TSO - Cox Arena San Diego, CA 20 TSO - The Pond Anaheim, CA 21 TSO - HP Pavilion San Jose, CA 23 TSO - Save Mart Center Fresno, CA 24 TSO - Reno Events Center Reno, NV 25 TSO - Arco Arena (3:00 pm) Sacramento, CA 25 TSO - Arco Arena (7:30 pm) Sacramento, CA 27 TSO - Energy Solutions Arena Salt Lake City, UT 28 TSO - Idaho Center Nampa, ID 30 TSO - GM Palace Vancouver, CAN December - 07 1 TSO - Key Arena (3:00 pm) Seattle, WA 1 TSO - Key Arena (8:00 pm) Seattle, WA 2 TSO - Rose Garden Arena (3:00 pm) Portland, OR 2 TSO - Rose Garden Arena (7:30 pm) Portland, OR 5 TSO - World Arena Colorado Springs, CO 6 TSO - Pepsi Center Denver, CO 7 TSO - Kansas Coliseum Wichita, KS 8 TSO - Sprint Center (3:00 pm) Kansas City, MO 8 TSO - Sprint Center (8:00 pm) Kansas City, MO 9 TSO - Scottrade Center (3:00 pm) St Louis.
